Alf Andersson

Gunnel Johansson-Hugg

My name is Gunnel Johansson-Hugg and i have been elected to the board as the new accountant. I have been a member in Twiga since it´s formation, i was previously the internal auditor for Twiga. I have been working as a pre-school teacher for 30 years,i live in Lund and i have been working in Malmö the last 2 years.

Ingemar Ekblad

My name is Ingemar Ekblad and since 2010 I am secretary of the board. I became member of Twiga while I was studying South Asian studies at Österlen Folk High School 2005/2006. During 2009 I was trough the same school trainee at Twigas partners in Mbale, Uganda. This year I’m mentor for the the new trainees to Mbale.

I’m part if the work groups for both Twigas development cooperation’s in Mbale; Mooni Sports Club and Mbale Tigers Table Tennis Club. It fits me very well because I’m generally interested in development issues and specifically interested in sports.

I live in Malmö and are finishing a bachelor in peace and conflict studies.

Anna Malmros

My name is Anna and I have been in the board since 2007. My interest in African related issues began when my friend moved to Lusaka for a few years. When I came to Lund in 2005 I became a member of the Uganda Committee and so also in Twiga. Working with Twiga has given me many good experiences and especially I like to work at grassroots level and directly with local organizations.

Moreover, I am studying environmental science at Lund University but will soon start working.

Jens Persson

My name is Jens and I am a member of the board since March 2010. Besides this I work with Twiga projects in Kenya. I joined Twiga in 2004 as I attended African studies at Österlens folkhögskola. 2008 after attending another course at the same school with an internship in Enkokidongoi, Kenya I became more active in Twiga. Apart from Twiga I work with infant swimming in Lund and Malmö.

Ulrike Deppert

My name is Ulrike and I am responsible for the relations to the members within Twiga. I have been in the board since March 2008. I am also a member of the Uganda Committee that have several projects primarily targeting youths in the Gulu district in northern Uganda. I have been a member of Twiga since 2003, when I studied at Österlen Folk High School.

After finishing my Master Degree in International Development and Management in the spring of 2008 I went to Vancouver, Canada and upon my return to Sweden renewed my engagement to Twiga. My biggest interest has always been Africa and I am alsways looking forward to my next trip.

Sigrid Lindbom

My name is Sigrid Lindbom and I am an alternate member in the board and responsible for managing Twiga's website together with the webmaster. I have been in the board 2007 and have previously been the the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and Member coordinator. I became a member in Twiga in 2002 when I was studying African development and society at Österlen Folk High School. Working for Twiga is a lot of fun and it is an excellent learning experience to cooperate with grass roots organisations in Eastern Afrika and to work with development projects.

I live in Malmö, Sweden, where I am pursuing a Bachelor Degree in International Relations at Malmö University. In the spring of 2010 I am currently doing an internship at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Copenhagen. Previously I have worked for a national HIV organisation with information work for migrant groups. I love travelling and experiencing different cultures.

Johan Olsson

My name is Johan and I am an alternate member of the board. I have previously been Vice Chairperson of the organisation. It was when studying Africa knowledge at Österlen Folk High School 2004-2005 that I first came in the contact with Twiga. Since then I have been very interested in Africa.

I am an educated Folk High School teacher and teaches History, Religion, Philosophy and Gender at Fridhems Folk High School, This is a job that I really like doing. I also study Gender knowledge at a distance in cooperation with Umeå University.
