Twiga is a solidarity organization who cooperate with other grass root organizations.

Cooperations

Twiga cooperates with other organisations and groups. Within each cooperation there is a project or number of sub projects. Listed here are the current cooperation's and near the bottom you will find a link to former cooperation's.

Internship Course

Twiga cooperates with Österlen Folk High School, and has since 2006 had trainees at our partner organizations in Uganda and Kenya through the Internship Course. Eight trainees per year has had their practice on Twiga´s projects, two trainees in Mbale, Uganda, and six trainees in Enkokidongoi, Kenya.

Mbale Tigers LLTTP

The project LLTTP has since February 2003 cooperated with Mbale Tigers Table Tennis Club in Mbale, Uganda. LLTTP works as a mediator between Ugandan youth sports and national/international funds, privat persons and companies.

The purpose with the cooperation is to promote youths' personal development by giving them an opportunity to do sports and be educated free of charge.

Mooni Sports Club Uganda

The objective of the cooperation between the twig and the MSC is to use sport to create a democratic platform for young people in Mooni. MSC provides materials and plan for free and open to any of the Mooni after school hours and during weekends. The only requirement is that borrowers sign up. 

Noontoto Primary School Kenya

Twiga cooperates with Noontoto Primary School trying to give all the children in the area access to a good Primary School. The school is owned by the Kenyan government but has an elected school comittee that manages the development of the school. Currently the school has 2 pree-school classes and 5 grades with a total of about 170 students.

Oloiliai Girls Student Foundation

Oloililai Girls Student Foundation is a Twiga project. It got its name from our partner organisation in Enkokidongoi Kenya. Oloililai means "to stand on someone´s shoulders", in Olmaa, the language spoken by the Maasai. The project is often referred to as simply "the girls' foundation".

Uganda Committee

We collaborate wotih youth gourps as well as with organisations that work with hiv-positive children.

The Uganda Committee primarily works with youths in Gulu, northern Uganda, that are affected by war. We cooperate with different local organisations and have implemented projects within health, ecological house building and spreading information, the latter especially through the web.

Former Cooperations

Twiga have previously cooperated with some organizations that we no longer cooperate with. These projects have been within areas such as environment, gender issues, street children and education. You can read more about these cooperations here.
