Everyone has the right to education! The right to education is appointed in the Universal declaration of Human Rights. That all children are supposed to be attending primary school by 2015 is the second of the eight UN millennium goals. Nearly all countries in the world have signed these two declarations.

The world is close to attaining the goal of universal primary school, but the situation is still dire in some parts. Most notably in Sub Saharan Africa. Girl's access to education needs to be put in focus. A few examples of the education situation in the world today:

• 8 out of 10 children start school
• Only a third of these finishes primary school
• Over 100 million children do not attend school at all
• 3 out of 5 of these children are girls
