Homosexuals outed in Ugandan Press

Today, Monday November 8, 2010, we can read in a national Swedish newspaper that homosexuals in Uganda are outed. The Ugandan newspaper has published their name, aderss, other information alongside with a photo of the person in question. They want to protect the citizens children from being recruited, according to BBC.

Twiga's Ping-Pong project made its way into Dagens Nyheter, a popular Swedish daily, on Tuesday 15 June. The article, titled "Ping-Pong was a solid way to help (Pingisen var ett konkret sätt att hjälpa), was published as a part of DN's new "Generation E" series.

Money from Folke Bernadotte Academy

Yesterday the Uganda Committee were granted money from Folke Bernadott Academy from their project the Peace Million. The money will be used in cooperation with Gulu Youth for Wealth Creation Association (GYWAS) about security regarding water resourses.

Over 90 new school benches for Noontoto Primary School

Per Åkesson from Swedish School Nairobi (Svenska skolan i Nairobi) has sent us a pleasant update about the progress of the School Bench Project which was started in Enkokidongoi, Southern Kenya. Twiga congratulate Per for his commendable work which has provided many schoolchildren with strong and sturdy benches.

Successfull Project in Mooni, Uganda

A two-year Forum Syd-supported projects have been completed for Mooni Sports Club in Uganda. The project's objectives have been achieved and we are now planning another Forum Syd-supported project. 130 people are registered in the sports club and exercise regularly but the materials and plans used by more schools and by the registered friends.

More and more of Moonis youths join Mooni Sports Club. And it is football that is grows most. Congratulations for the new team - boys 8-12 years.
