Twiga Groups - A place for groups to work together

A feature of the new Twiga site is something called "Grupper" or "Groups". Groups are a place in the site where any group of users can come together to discuss a particular subject you are collectively interested in. An example might be for a cooperation, a project, organising an event or just something the groups members have in common.

The basic idea is that group members can engage in discussions and have a place (a group folder) to store and retrieve documents. Group subscribers are updated by email when a new post is made to your group.

This Group is the "Website Volunteers" group. Everyone who is a member is interested in running, developing or otherwise improving the website.

To create your own group, please contact me directly and I will set one up for - Jeff Burns ph 0709 600 416. Later we may allow all active Twiga members to create their own groups - this is something that can be discussed right here in this group.

To join any group you must first "subscribe" and then be approved by the group administrator (you must first be a member of the website and have the role "Twiga Medlem").

To make a post in your group, create a "Grupp sida". Grupp sida posts can be made public (as is this one) or left private for only your group members to view. They can also be posted to the homepage as is this one.

I will be writing more about groups over the coming months as we will be adding more features to the groups system. Groups is a powerful and flexable system that can be customised to suit the needs of Twiga.

If you need help do not hesitate to contact me.
