Invigning av nya planen

Läs Richards, vice ordförandes ord, från invigningen av tre nya planer i Mooni: basket, volleyboll och netball:

It all started up in the afternoon of the 31st May 2008. At the start it seemed it was just going to be Mooni Sports Club members seeing their club being launched, but that was wrong; The moment the music system was set we saw the young and old flocking Nashibiso ground, this we couldn’t believe! Not only the people made the day; when it came to the playing of Netball we as the board saw the support from the community members that we had never seen before.

Girls and women making the biggest number of the gathering we thought that why they supported the girls and women Netball teams but that was not; When it came to Basketball the crowd went crazy. We saw dancing, shouting and cheering at the players. The games went on well and this we gave thanks to Twiga and SIDA for the financial support that saw this day as colourfull as it was.

As the saying goes “Wonders will never cease”, though the political leaders that we had invited to grace the function did not turn up, this did not rob the people of Mooni the joy and happiness for the club. All in all this is the day that shall remain in the minds of the people of Mooni and the club in general.
