Content management includes:

  • All the sites pages
  • News
  • Events
  • Comments
  • Forum posts
  • Categories
  • Images & other media
  • Translations
  • Assisting members manage their own content

User management includes

  • CRM
Within each of these areas there are a number of tasks that need to be done regularly.

User management tasks:

  • Managing the CRM - inputting data into the CRM and keeping track of the Twiga membership via the CRM

Drupal User System

Drupal has a powerful "Users" system that allows us to set up "roles" and assign users to a role. Users in a role can do certain things in the site. We need to manage the users and their roles - mostly this invloves changing a users role so they can do more stuff - such as being able to submit news to the site, or post comments in the forum without approval.

From time to time a user will have problems. We need to be there to help new and existing users when they have problems, such as not being able to log into the site (maybe they lost their password) or help them create their own news or pages.

The CRM or "Constituent Relationship Manager"

The CRM allows Twiga to manage its membership via the website. All twiga members can be entered into the CRM database. Using this information we can do some pretty cool things:

"CiviCRM is the first open source and freely downloadable constituent relationship management solution. CiviCRM is web-based, open source, internationalized, and designed specifically to meet the needs of advocacy, non-profit and non-governmental groups. CiviCRM is a powerful contact, fund-raising and eCRM system that allows you to record and manage information about your various constituents including volunteers, activists, donors, employees, clients, vendors, etc. Track and execute donations, transactions, conversations, events or any type of correspondence with each constituent and store it all in one, easily accessible and manageable source."
To learn more about CiviCRM please visit http://osuosl.civicrm.org/ As you can see we can "manage" the Twiga membership via the CRM and that is precisely what it is intended for. If you are interested in any of the above tasks are work areas please contact me directly - Jeff Burns 0709 600 416. I will post a link to my contact form when the new site goes live later this month.
